This class is aimed at beginners who want to take their Lightroom Skills from beginner to advanced in this intense, one-day workshop. We will go beyond the basics and you will learn not only how to import your images into Lightroom and how to manage them in your catalog, but also how to edit your images to their fullest potential. You will also learn when and how to take your images into Photoshop for further editing, if necessary, as well as how to use plug-ins within Lightroom and how to save your images back into Lightroom so you can easily find them later (note we will not be covering Photoshop in this class – editing in Photoshop is covered in the Photoshop Bootcamp classes). My workflow and insider tips and techniques for successfully using lightroom will be covered. The morning will be spent covering the library module, including how to import as well as move images and folders, the use of collections, keywording, ratings and much, much more. The develop module will be covered in-depth in the afternoon and you will go beyond simple editing and learn more advanced techniques. Practice files will be given to each student as this class is intended to be hands-on so everyone can easily follow along. The other modules in Lightroom will be also be covered if time permits. To ensure the very best learning experience and provide individualized help and attention, classes are limited to 8 students. Every student will receive a USB with class notes and practice files. Lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided.
The class will be held on Saturday, Feb 22, 2020 from 10 am – 5 pm at Alison Caron’s design studio in Hyannis. Students should come to class with a recent version of Lightroom (Lightroom 6 or above is HIGHLY recommended although Lightroom CLASSIC from Adobe’s subscription plan is preferred) already installed on their computer and moderate computer skills. Note that I will be using Lightroom Classic for the desktop and not Lightroom CC (the cloud based version) for this class. No previous experience with Lightroom is necessary.
